3 interesting things that I would like to share with friends/family from today’s experience.

1. The Relay round during WMTC was interesting because unlike other competitions, it required both teammates to be able to get to the correct answer to get the marks.
2. The WMTC tournament gave little time to the participants to solve a small amount of questions during the Individual Round, and they had a total of 5 such rounds. It is interesting since the participants are actually forced to strategise and do the questions that require less time.

1. I have to be more active in Mathematical Olympiad lessons since I lack the knowledge of the techniques used for solving questions.
2. We should have better communication within the team since there were times where two people were doing the same question, thus wasting time.

1. How to solve the "Conway Checkers" problem that was raised in the expert's talk today.

1. The Forbidden City has 9999.5 rooms (Each room is counted as 4 pillars; a gate has at least 3 rooms because it has at least 8 pillars)
2. We were approached by a China participant from Hebei named Gao Shang today. He came to our room and asked us about the ways to improve English since he wanted to come to Singapore to study. We had a short talk and he left afterwards.
3. We went to the Chinese bookstore at Wangfujing today and we found that the English books available there were not very good and all the good English books were translated into Chinese.

2 important lessons that I learnt today.

1. It is important that we should not be careless since I lost my watch today and I also nearly locked myself out of the room when I did not bring my room card out. We should be more careful with everything, even the smallest details in life.
2. We should not imitate other's accents too often because it will reflect on others that we are rude. A language serves its purpose as long as others can understand what we are trying to convey.

1. I wonder how stressed are the Chinese students since they have a more intensive daily school life than us.

1. Climbing the Great Wall is fun provided that you are not afraid of heights. Also remember to wear gloves when climbing since your hands will be very cold.
2. I bought a panda!!!!(soft toy)and it looks like Jinhui :D

1. I think that we should practice more together as a team to improve our standards and train our teamwork spirit.

1. The chalkboard in the classroom was cleaned off with a vacuum cleaner. It keeps the environment clean and it is also an innovative way to clean the chalkboard. This has made me think about more innovative ways to solve problems in daily life.
2.The instructor used different colours of chalk to denote different pairs of lines. This helps students to visualise the problem better and help them to understand the solution easily.
3. The principal of the school said that more than 50 different math projects were placed along the hallway, each showcasing a different branch of math. I did not know that math can be split into so many different branches.

2 important lessons that I learnt today.

1. When solving problems, try not to think too complicated. It is better for us to solve problems through simple methods than complicated methods.

1. It was Joshua Brandon Chang Weng Kit’s birthday and we celebrated his birthday together with him at dinner :D and the cake was nice.
2. There was a Chinese typo in one of the math projects displayed on the corridor where it showed when it should have been .
3. Mosquitoes around the hostel are rather big and noticeable compared to those back in Malaysia and Singapore. They are fairly easy to hit but also rather annoying since they are actually bigger in size.

1. Try not to do hard questions for extended durations because eventually you will get bored and end up wasting time. Have some small rest periods in between so that you will not be so stressed.
2. All Heron’s triangles are made up from right angle triangles.

1. The Bund Sightseeing Tunnel is a waste of money. If there is another cheaper way to travel across the river, I recommend it. :D
2. More and more people are getting sick D: I should drink more water.
3. Certain things can be very inappropriate if viewed from a different perspective

1. Compare lines purposefully so that you can solve the question easily.

1. Sec 3s are having classes with us for the next 5 lessons.

2. We were supposed to split the questions among ourselves, which became quite of a mess

3. Circular reasoning cannot be applied to solve circular questions(although both are circular D:)

1. Learned more on circular problems which was very beneficial since I have very little experience of solving such problems.

1. I learnt about Ceva's Theorem and also Menelaus's Theorem, which can be very useful in solving questions about triangles with lines intercepting them.
2. It is important for us to be able to spot cyclic quadrilaterals in circular problems since they can be extremely useful.
